NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED GRANT
APPLICATION(S) TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC
OPPORTUNITY FOR UP TO $4,080,590.00 IN COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT – CORONAVIRUS (CDBG-CV) FUNDS
TO PREPARE FOR, PREVENT, OR RESPOND TO THE HEALTH &
ECONOMIC IMPACTS OF COVID-19
PUBLIC NOTICE INFORMATION
Miami-Dade County intends to apply for a grant of up to $4,080,590.00 in CDBG-CV funds through the
Florida Department of Economic Opportunity competitive process. This program is designed to provide
entitlement communities such as Miami-Dade County funds to prepare for, prevent, or respond to the health
and economic impacts of COVID-19. The activities must be primarily for the benefit of low- and moderateincome residents. Under the CARES Act, funding is available through the Community Development Block
Grant Program for activities that prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus pandemic.
Public Housing and Community Development (PHCD) will hold a public hearing on Monday, October 25,
2021, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend either in person at the Stephen P. Clark
Center, 111 N.W. 1st Street, Miami Florida 33128, Room 18-3, or to attend virtually via zoom at
https://miamidade.live/PHCDPublicHearing. Virtual
attendees
must
pre-register
before
the
deadline of October 25, 2021, at 9:30 a.m., at the link above. Virtual attendees wishing to speak must indicate
that in the pre-registration process. Virtual attendees may provide comments during the registration process, and
comment cards will be available for in person attendees. The public may view a live webcast of the hearing at
https://www.miamidade.gov/webcasting or view an archived copy of the hearing.
The public is invited to attend and comment. Comments may also be submitted in writing starting
October 18, 2021 until October 25, 2021 to the attention of Mr. Clarence Brown, Division Director at Public
Housing and Community Development (PHCD), 701 NW 1st Court, 14th Floor, Miami, Florida 33136 or via e-mail
communitydevelopmentservices@miamidade.gov.
