On Thursday, Oct. 17, iTech @ Thomas A. Edison Educational Center, located at 6101 NW Second Ave., hosted its annual Career and College Fair with over 75 recruiters. Eighth graders from Jose de Diago Middle School, Horace Man Middle School, Lille Carmichael Evans K-8, Morningside K-8 and Edison Park K-8 schools, along with students from iTech participated.
Schools, colleges and universities that were represented at fair included: Miami Dade Colleges (Medical, Carrie P. Meeks, North, Wolfson Campus & Honors College), Florida International University, Talladega College, Bethune Cookman College, Florida National College, University of Central Florida, University of South Florida, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Lynn University, Keiser University, Atlantis University, Florida Memorial University, Penn State University, American University, Barry University, University of Oregon, University of Miami, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and D.A. Dorsey Technical College of MDCPS.
Businesses and community based organizations in attendance included: Gang Alternative Inc., The Village Westcare, VOUS Church, Baton Youth (Ezra Dieuvielle, CEO), Career Source with Mobile unit, Miami Fire & Rescue, Miami Police, U.S. Army, Global X-Net Technology, eMerge Americas, Miami-Dade Public Libraries, Spectrum-Admin. Emmanuel Fields, Miami-Dade County Juvenile Services, On-Point, Project to Cure Paralysis, and U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services.
