The city of Miami on Thursday, Feb. 21 broke ground on the Carrie Meek Irrigation/Landscaping system at Hadley Park. Miami Commissioner Keon Hardemon and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez unveiled the planned $101,000 project that, when completed, will keep the flora at Hadley Park hydrated.

Hardemon said the irrigation system is a quality of life improvement for users of the park.

“This is an opportunity for us to go above and beyond, what is necessary …this is something that makes life better,” Hardemon said. “When you combine that with a beautiful garden and well-kept greeneries and places for children to play and you hear them laugh, I mean that’s perfect. This is our gift to the neighborhood.”
