KAYVERT HILL, 73, retired Miami-Dade Transit Bus Traffic Controller died May 28 at the Palace Renaissance Assisted Living Facility. He was the son of the late Bro. L.K. Hill and Dr. Mary Viola Hill, former Grand Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Kayvert graduated from Northwestern High School in 1961 and was a member of the marching band. He attended Tennessee State University in Nashville. He later joined the Army to serve his country during the Vietnam War as a helicopter engineer. Upon his return from the war, he joined Miami-Dade Transit where he served as a bus driver, bus dispatcher and bus traffic controller until he retired.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Barbara M. Hill; daughter, Jennifer K. Huggins (Quincy); son, Nicolas K. Hill (Neesia); grandchildren, Natalie E. Hill and Nicolas K. Hill Jr.; cousins, Clarence and Mary Hill; and a host of relatives, neighbors and friends. A private memorial service will be held at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
